Volunteer Work
The United Way
I take an active interest in my community. In 2007, I was the corporate co-chair for InsureMe’s Mile High United Way campaign.
To say the campaign was a success is an understatement. Sixty-five of 67 employees donated more than $50,000 for the cause. Combined with with the company’s three-to-one match, the campaign raised more than $200,000.
As a result of the collective efforts, the company took home the top honor for Denver-area corporate charitable giving: The Champion of Hope award. Read about it.
PTE-China.org
Prevention Through Education is a non-profit organization aimed at combating the HIV/AIDS epidemic in China. In 2007 I worked with the executive director of PTE to create in coordinate the year’s fundraising materials. You can see some of fruits of those efforts here.
Out of the Office
Sometimes you’ve got to get away from the computer and get your hands dirty. In November 2007, I accompanied a group of friends and colleagues to Juarez, Mexico to build a house for a family in need. I look forward to continually finding new ways of supporting my global community.
